I Critics' Choice Awards 2019 premiano Roma e il suo regista Alfonso Cuarón. La 24° edizione del prestigioso premio si conclude con tre premi a Roma, miglior film, miglior regia e miglior fotografia.
Nel settore televisivo la fanno da padrone The Americans nella categoria drammatica e La fantastica signora Maisel in quella comica, premiato anche The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story come miglior miniserie.
Tra gli attori la star di Vice - L'uomo nell'ombra Christian Bale è il miglior attore dell'anno, mentre Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born) e Glenn Close (The Wife) si dividono il premio per la miglior attrice. Lady Gaga, in lacrime, festeggia inoltre la vittoria di Shallow, miglior canzone. Mahershala Ali e Regina King premiati nelle categorie non protagonista.
Black Panther conquista il premio per i costumi, scenografia ed effetti visivi, mentre il trucco va a Vice.
